Miss Ipswich Show Girl. 2014

On saturday night I attended my very first Ipswich Show Ball, I was super excited! The lovely Victoria of Victoria Reid Photography and I had teamed up and donated a complete Boudoir Session! – What a prize!!! – We did find out that it was going to be one of the major prizes for the winner of Miss Show Girl 2014! – I love to support local and I know Victoria does too! – I bought a new dress (thank you Von’s Gorgeous Gowns for ordering it in for me!!) Turns out it was quite a hit, my husband and I are pictured in the top corner of today’s Queensland Times and again in a much larger photo on page 15! It was a wonderful night with over $15,000 worth of prizes up for grabs (that was just the raffles!), a roast buffet dinner (yes, VERY delicious!) dancing and great company! Thank you Ipswich Show Society for having us as guests! I certainly looking forward to supporting and attending again next year!

There were 5 entrants for Miss Show Girl this year and I was lucky to look after one of them, Sarah. Sarah is down to earth and lovely, not to mention she put up with my crazy sense of humour the whole time I was doing her makeup. I wished her well for her interview with the judging panel and off she went! When we arrived at the Show Ball we were seated at the best table, alongside, Sarah and partner for the evening Ben, her Mum Heather, Chantel (the 2013 Miss Show Girl), Victoria and Anthony (Boudoir partner in crime and her fiance) and lastly the judges for next years Miss Show Girl Ball! Would we have the Miss Show Girl for 2014 also seated at our table???

YES WE DID!!! I was super excited for Sarah when she was announced Miss Show Girl!Because Sarah answered so many questions and did it so well I sent her some more!

Sarah, it was so wonderful to meet you and look after you, I know you will do Ipswich proud! …and it won’t be the last time you put up with my terrible humour while having your makeup done!

Miss Show Girl

Congratulations Miss Show Girl 2014! What made you decide to enter? And tell me a little about yourself…
I entered the Miss Showgirl competition because it is a great opportunity to meet new people and have new experiences. I also heard on River 949 that they were looking for more entrants this year and I fit the criteria necessary to enter. I had previously won Miss Junior Showgirl for Esk in 2008 when I was in Highschool and enjoyed the whole experience so much I was eager to do it again!

What was running through your mind while the judges were deliberating?
I was freaking out on the inside!! We (the entrants) had been told that in the past the final questions asked on stage in front of the crowd can sometimes sway the Judges decision on the winner, but it hadn’t happened for years!

Do you know what your official duties are yet? What are you most looking forward to?
I definitely get to attend the Ipswich Show this weekend in my winning blue sash as this years Miss Showgirl, representing the Show Society and our GREAT city! I also get to attend the Regional Show Ball competition representing Ipswich and possibly being crowned Miss West Moreton. But it really isn’t about the titles, All the Show Balls are just a fantastic night to experience and enjoy!

Where to now Miss Show Girl?
As I said, I’ll be doing the Ipswich Show and the Regional Show Ball as my officialy duties, but I am really hoping I can be hands on in my role as Miss Showgirl and am wanting to ‘get out there’ representing Ipswich and doing as much as I can in the next year.

And lastly the question I asked everyone… What did you think of the makeup and the service you received?
My make up was absolutely flawless! I wore the airbrushed foundation for the first time and the stories are true – you barely feel like you are wearing make up at all! It lasted the whole night with barely a lippy touch up required! I am totally astounded with how beautiful I looked and felt! It really takes a bit of the stress away when you don’t have to worry about your face melting off! I super please with the service I received from Tyneale, she made me feel so at ease and I am definitely booking again for Regionals!!
