On the 3rd of October 2015, my assistant and I arrived at the Ipswich International to a room full of excitement, I LOVE looking after big weddings parties, so many laughs and smiles and Victoria’s perfect day was just that. I have worked with Victoria previously as Hair & Makeup for her Boudoir Photoshoots (Victoria Reid Photography – check her out yourself!) and it was a huge compliment to be booked by her for her perfect day – she has looked at my work many times rather closely! Thank you to the lovely and talented Danielle White for being my right hand lady.
Victoria, it was a pleasure to be there for you on your forever day, you were so beautiful and elegant! I know yourself and Anthony will enjoy a happily ever after!
Here’s what the Bride thought…
My favourite moment of the day was seeing the look on Anthony’s face when he was watching me walking down the aisle, it was like the whole world had vanished around us.
How did I choose my dress: It was the second dress 3rd dress shop I had gone in to. At Winnie Bridal in the city, I saw it when we made an appointment for fitting and it caught my eye then. When I tried it on at the appointment I was in love with it as I looked in the mirror, I looked amazing in it, then when the doors were opened for me to walk out my best friend cried. It ticked all the boxes, it was a romantic dream come true and it could be made to measure – something I found essential being a Mum of 5 and Winnie was able to make some variations to the design for me as well to make it absolutely perfect. My advice: You get what you pay for – I saved and saved and saved for my dress and am so happy that I did.
Personal touches for our day: We incorporated the things that meant a lot to us. We hired a pool table for at the reception. We hired my childhood friend’s band to play at the reception – we’d shared our first dance on our first date to one of their original songs at a gig we went to where they were performing. I walked down the aisle to Nothing Else Matters – my favourite Metallica song, I also incorporated some of the words from Nothing Else Matters into our vows. I made sure to surprise Anthony with the “Everything is Awesome” song (which I am not a fan of but he loves and drives me nuts singing it at times). We walked back down the aisle to Disturbed’s first ever love ballad “You’re Mine” that Dave Draiman wrote for his wife. We included all of the children in a candle ceremony as part of the wedding ceremony. I placed one of my Nan’s brooches on my flowers so she would be represented on the day.
Makeup: The makeup was absolutely stunning, I have worked with Tyneale in my photography business and have always found her to be not only amazing at what she does but also extremely friendly and just an amazing person all round. The makeup on myself and all of my bridesmaids was just perfect, it lasted all day and I felt amazing! I would highly recommend Tyneale to any future brides looking for an amazing makeup artist who is calm, fun, professional, warm and really enhances not just your face, but your experience of your wedding day as well.
Advice for future brides: Plan as much as you can ahead of time, but be ready to be flexible on the day. In the end as long as you marry the one you love, Nothing Else Matters!
Thank you to Rochelle James Photography for allowing me to share some of the beautiful moments she snapped at Victoria’s perfect day.
